Dadaism

Dada was a literary and artistic movement born in Europe at a time when the horror of World War I was being played out in what amounted to citizens’ front yards. Due to the war, a number of artists, writers and intellectuals - notably of French and German nationality - found themselves congregating in the refuge that Zurich (in neutral Switzerland) offered. Far from merely feeling relief at their respective escapes, this bunch was pretty ticked off that modern European society would allow the war to have happened. They were so angry, in fact, that they undertook the time-honored artistic tradition of protesting.

Dadaism is the idea of inventing a new things or artworks. It is related to photomontage.

Here are some examples.

Dadaist is the one who invented the idea first. The ideas usually not normal or not logical. They are not exist. But the world can accept the idea. For example dragon and unicorn. They are not even real.

Random Association

Random Word technique, the most basic and obviously creative technique where you use a random word (hence the name!) to generate new ideas. By getting a random word as a prompt and forcing yourself to use it to solve your problem you are practically guaranteed to attack the problem from a different direction to normal. You take a word from a random word generator, extract its underlying principles and then apply them to your problem to see how they can help. The skill is stopping your mind from:
(a) thinking this is silly and
(b) directly using the actual principles behind the word to your problem without changing them to ones which                             are easier to apply.

In the class, we need to think a ways to stop people from smoking by using random word technique. Related the answer with traffic light.

there are 4 words can be taken from traffic light.

-sign
-color
-metal
-dirty.

Sign

Put sign on the cigarette, MIND YOU LIVE. It will make people think. Mostly all of the smokers know the danger of smoking but they just ignore it. So, by putting this sign, it will make them beware of the danger of smoking.

Color

Put some colors to indicate the levels of danger on the cigarette. Its really useful. Green to show safe, Yellow to show be careful and Red to extremely dangerous.

Metal.

Put metal such as silver at the cigarette butt. Not just the price will increase but the weigh will increase too. Moreover, after a few minutes smoking, the silver will absorb the heat and become hot. Of course no one want to hold a hot thing.

Dirty

Put some dirty chemical substances in the cigarette.Make sure that the substances can last for a long time. The mouth of the smokers will surely stinks.

JUXTAPOSITION

Juxtaposition can be defined as placing two variable, side by side and their contrast or similarity are shown through comparison. Many creative processes rely on juxtaposition. By juxtaposing two objects or words next to each other, human brain will automatically associate or transfer meaning. Usually ‘turning’ something familiar to something less familiar or vice-versa.

For example:

On week 7, we need to do an activity involving juxtaposition. There are some steps to be followed.

Step 1:
Choose 3 random numbers starting from 00 to 99.
So, I choose 11, 81 and 07

Step 2:
Lecturer show a slide contain 2 column of words. Words on the first side are numbered from 1 to 0 while on the other side are numbered from 0 to 1.
Here's the words:

Step 3:
Construct 3 sentences based on the numbers and those words.
This is what I've done:

-11(flower water): Flower can grow in water.
-81(oil water): The two siblings didn't get along well, they are just like oil and water.
-07(fly tree): The bird is as fat as a tree.

Step 4:
Put the words together based on the numbers. Draw pictures to associate them.
a. 11 (flower water)

b.81 (oil water)

c. 07 (fly tree)

As you can see, this is a very interesting activity. We can improve our creativity and understanding towards juxtaposition.

Next activity required us to write a love poem based on chilli.

Love and chilli,

how can i relate them,
how can i express how close they are in some terms.

Love and chilli,

they always make me feel the thrill,
make my heart pounding fast,
make my adrenalin rushing.

Love and chilli,

though i know the its hot and spicy,
its still cannot stop me to have them.

Mortar and pestle are the traditional things that really helpful to humanity. They were invented to fullfill the needs of human and the limitation of human.

They are even being used nowadays. The usage is of mortar and pestle are as same the modern blenders. It is used to crush herbs, chilli or even traditional medicine.

Mortar is the bowl-shaped thing made up of stone while pestle is a long thing usually made up of stone or wood.

On week 6, we were asked by Mr. Radzi Bedu to think about how to improve the usage of mortar and pestle. To make innovation from mortar and pastle according to several aspects.
This is what I've done on the Monday..

Ok, here's the things. My ideas are based on 3 categories which is Evil, Games and Fashion.

Mind Mapping

What is mind map? Why it is so important and widely use nowadays? These are examples of mind map.

This is a little introduction on a mind map..
Mind map concept is inspired and invented by Tony Buzan. Mind mapping is a technique that involve graphic and text element to develop ideas ideas from a single idea. Its give us the freedom to express what we have in  mind.

What do we need to create a mind map?
- a blank paper

- coloured pens and pencils(at least have a pen or a pencil)

- a brain

- imaginations

It is simple and easy right? Usually it takes about a 15 minutes to create a simple mind map. This is why mind mapping technique is commonly used by many people.

But why it is so important?
- It helps us to develop the usage of both side of our brain to produce such incredible result.

- helps in speed reading.

- realy helps in development of our creativity by expanding idea from centre.

Mind mapping is really helps us in many ways as stated above. Here are the simple steps on how to produce a mind map.
1. Starts at the center
2. Don't be serious
3. Free associate
4. Think as fast as we can
5. There are no boundaries
6. Go Go Go..
7. Add connections and relationships

Yeah, thats all for this entry. Mind mapping technique is really helpfull for us especially students.

What Kind Of Environment Or Situation Make Me Creative, Inventive,Innovative?

As a creative student, of course I need to be Creative, Inventive and Innovative. In order to achieve that, I must find the environment or situation that can help me. It is almost impossible for me to be creative, inventive and innovative at anywhere and anytime. I'm not Picasso or Leonardo Da Vinci.

So what kind of environment or situation can make me Creative, Inventive and Innovative?
1. Calm place with not so many people in it.
2. Mingle with creative people.
3. Put anything that I have in mind on a paper.
4. Thinking while listening to music.
5. Browsing internet to help with my ideas.
6. Take a deep breath and get out for a while.
